#103 We have the great Peter Lundy a red seal carpenter and former construction teacher on the show

  • by

Peter AKA Lundy shares his story with us from a teenager to his home being burned down by the meth lab neighbor and now he is dealing with the government and rebuilding his home in British Columbia.

What a great talk with Lundy and prepare for a really emotional show.

We open the show with a Construction Bone Lundy has to pick with us and free estimates. His career began with a newspaper article about youth apprenticeship, after searching for a school to attend since most schools were closing the shop classes. Lundy got into the program at 18 and was a certified Red Seal Carpenter at 22 and working in the industry. After a few years he decided to go back to school for Teachers College with the hope to teach construction. Teaching to Lundy was also about being a mentor, guiding people through the construction industry is as important as learning the skills. Lundy discusses how important safety is and how the school refused to provide him with the correct safety gear and equipment to teach the students and a visit from the Ministry of Labor determined there were over 20 safety violations and eventually Lundy was wrongfully dismissed by the School Board.

Thank you so much Lundy for joining the show again and sharing your construction heartfelt stories, insight and more. Anyone interested in reaching out please contact Lundy at 289 887-3654 and [email protected]

Don’t forget we have Construction History from Manny at the beginning of the show, Building Code Talk with Manny at the midpoint and Green Book Talk with Carlito at the near end and now the brand new and very well received Twelve Questions of Construction.

Don’t forget to follow Carlito on his new IG page @theconstructionliferenos and contact him for your next renovation project.

Thank you to Mark from @skyluxeroofing for letting us record the show in his breakroom and welcome him and his guys always walking through the recording. Give Mark and his solid crew a call for your next roofing, cladding, ACM project.
